Supplement volume 30 completes the 19th edition of the Brockhaus-Enzyklopädie (reviewed in IFB 95-2-184). The supplement follows the example of Meyers enzyklopädisches Lexikon. It cumulates the supplementary entries listed in volumes 6, 12, 18, and 24 and features new articles on current topics, such as German reunification, European integration, AIDS, ethnic conflicts, and public debt. The volume contains some 10,000 entries. Departing from past tradition, the publisher has announced that a new 20th edition will come out very soon. The first volume of the new edition is to appear in November of this year. It will reflect the new German spelling rules. [sah/ba]
